If you want to get tips on how and where to invest in the Roth Ira, please visit roth-ira.org for more information about it.
I am surprised at how so many of the claimed financial “experts” make a complete mockery over the choosing which of the Traditional or the Roth IRA is best for a safe and happy retirement life.
I read once in a paper where one of the so called expert said that there is no mathematical difference between the Roth and the Traditional IRAs.
Garbage. Absolute garbage is all that is as there is more than just mathematical difference between the two.
Let us assume that a guy named Smith invests in the Traditional IRA and a guy named Alex invests in the Roth IRA. Both of them invest 40 grand in their respective accounts in following years. At the time of retirement, i.e, 59 and a half years, both of them have $300,000 in their respective accounts.
Initially when both of them invested, Smith got a tax deduction of around 12 grand on his investment of 40 grand. But Alex didn’t, I know that most of you now think the Traditional IRA is better, but listen through. Though the Roth IRA doesn’t offer tax deductions, You don’t have to pay any at the time of withdrawal. But Smith needs to pay that day’s tax rate at the time of withdrawal which makes it a bad choice because we do not know if the tax rate is going to rise or fall, (Rise I would think considering the current situation of the economy), So when Smith and Alex withdraw their amounts, Alex gets the entire $300,000 to his name without having to pay any penalties or taxes. But Smith has to write a check of around $150,000 if the tax rate is around 50%.
So which would you prefer? Paying your taxes early and not worrying about the future or getting tax deductions years ago and worrying about the tax rates every day?!
Give me a break, All you investors need to do your math and understand the benefits of the Roth IRA!
